Prolog Version: Prolog-9.2.
CentOS Stream 9 is a Linux enterprise-class operating system that is functionally compatible with its upstream source, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
Prolog is a logic programming language that is primarily used in artificial intelligence and computational linguistics. It was developed in the early 1970s by Alain Colmerauer and his team. Unlike many other programming languages, Prolog is declarative, meaning that the logic of the program is expressed in terms of relations, represented as facts and rules. In Prolog, you define what you want to achieve rather than how to achieve it. You state facts and rules, and the Prolog engine uses these to infer conclusions. Facts are basic assertions about the world, and rules define relationships between facts. Prolog can represent and reason about knowledge in a way that mimics human decision-making processes. Additionally, Prolog is ability to handle recursive queries makes it a powerful tool for solving problems like family tree analysis, where relationships between individuals can be defined and queried in a straightforward manner.
