OnBase is powerful tool in ECM.
What do you like best about the product?
OnBase is an ECM tool containing all kinds of modules to automate the business processes and archive the documents in a structured way. This solution code less solution. Even without knowing the programming, anyone can easily learn and develop upon the organization's needs. Especially case management, workflow, and unity form are more potent. It definitely will fit any organization as this is the ultimate solution you can alter to suit any requirements.
It supports a cloud base, so you no need to maintain any server infrastructure to manage the solution. It is having strong integration with Microsoft products and a lot of plugins to integrate with third-party integration and also providing APIs.
I strongly recommend that organization should try this solution since this will full fill your expectation there is no doubt about that.

What do you dislike about the product?
Web client interface to be moderated as look and feel is not the expectation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I did a significant implementation. In my experience, the most common problems OnBase has helped solve relate to efficient document workflow solutions, data capture, reporting dashboards, document sharing, unity form, retention, and case management.
It automates any complex processes as you can eliminate human mistakes as much as possible, so your cost in a suitable manner.

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use and IT administration and implementation is hard to beat. Hyland continues to improve and develop it's software to evolve from it's initial implementation as a scanning solution to a leader in automated workflows and enterprise content management.
What do you dislike about the product?
The support model has declined slightly as the organization has continued to expand. There have been recent improvements that have been developed to try to improve and rectify some of these struggles.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ease of form development and automated workflows have allowed us to quickly implement new solutions that are leverage system-wide.
A highly tool-able ECMS for nearly any requirement set
What do you like best about the product?
With OnBase, Hyland offers a wide variety of modules and capabilities allowing customers to build a made-to-order solution without having to pay for features they're never going to use. Many of OnBase's tools are highly configurable without any need for custom programming, but the ability to do so is there if you wish to devote the resources to it. The workflow & workview modules allow for the building of in-system applications and rules-based process automation to easily reduce your dependence on paper-based processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unlike the punctuality of their tech support and sales staff, if you are considering becoming a cloud-hosted customer, be prepared for extended wait times for service from the cloud team. Also, while Hyland's modules cover capabilities and integrations with many different platforms, native support for Google apps is very minimal. This can be circumvented if you have a knowledgeable development staff to develop custom integrations, but first-class out-of-the-box support for Google Docs instead of a dependence on Microsoft Office would be better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our most recent initiative was to implement an E-Plan Review system in OnBase to replace our paper-based review system for engineering, commercial building, and zoning permit reviews. The switch helped to shave weeks off of turnaround times and has drastically reduced paper waste & storage. Clients now receive instant notification when a review has completed on their submitted project. If changes need to be made and re-submitted, clients can make those changes and resubmit digitally without the need to pick-up old sets of paper plans and have new ones printed and dropped-off.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Invest in training team personnel. I'd recommend having a certified admin and one extra for every 200 or so employees. Also have 2 or 3 certified workflow or worview developers if you choose to purchase those modules.
An Overall Solid Product
What do you like best about the product?
OnBase can be molded to fit many different use cases and can be used in some capacity in almost every department of a company.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a number of different applications that need to be used when being an administrator for this product. It is also best to keep as many end users on the same application (Unity, Thick client, Web client) as possible to reduce confusion and help make upgrades easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

OnBase is something that can be used as little or as much as your business needs. If you are interested in OnBase and it feels like the best option, starting by using it in a smaller role with minimal risk may be a good way to test it out in a real world scenario.
Unlimited Possibilities for Innovation
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to connect any 3rd party application and configure the system to create endless possibilities for business process automation
What do you dislike about the product?
The server infrastructure and upgrade process. We have over 20+ servers to make our system run efficiently. Since we are an Enterprise customer, we have all modules that they offer so every module has to be upgraded individually at upgrade time and it makes it really difficult to test and move to the next version. The infrastructure setup alone requires a fully staffed team that is extremly knowledgeable around server infrastructures. Otherwise, I suggest being in the Cloud which is A LOT more expensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to run all of our internal business processes through OnBase. We have already saved over 25,000 hours in processes on an annual basis to the point where we have not had to grow our Operational staff to support our growing business.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start small and understand your goal for the solution you are trying to build. OnBase can handle anything you can dream about. Try not to overcomplicate it from the start.
Awesome solution to Organization Needs
What do you like best about the product?
The integration with all of our line of business systems. The ability to create workflows between line of business systems without the need of programmers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not really any downsides that we see. Very user friendly

We create workflows between departments using multiple line of business applications. The single authoritative source is great. One location for all documents and the ability to move processes thru different offices has been a tremendous value.

Think outside the box.
One platform for all, Hyland can do it all!
What do you like best about the product?
Easy of use and the ability to adapt to multiple industries with one product all tied together. The community gives everyone a voice and the ability to voice their opinions and drive new features/functionality. Hyland's yearly conference brings everyone together to learn about new features and products about the platform coming to market, training, testing and networking with others to see how you might have a new use case to bring back to your office.
What do you dislike about the product?
Simple item really, moving projects from Test/QA to Production.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use OnBase as a business process improvement tool as well as a ECM. All of our business units benefit from OnBase but to pick a couple of the larges would be our Claims Processing, Client Implementation and Support, Participant Services team, Sales and Accounting.

What do you like best about the product?
It is the wide platform where we manage our contents and different processes. This has minimized all the threats and insecurity we faced in terms of data security across our entire enterprise. It has brought collaboration in our workflow across our organization in our major processes related to IT and other core business systems. Thanks to this software which has saved our time and delivers us quality services.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a bit difficult to manage large sized data and it does not have efficient filtering features. It has high pricing and licensing is also very complex, due to which some organizations may not afford it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is excellent in automating our organization processes which has helped to manage our budget, like we really do not waste money in printing, shipping and storing paper. Through this application we are more clear idea about our requests, transactions and order. We are using this tool from a long time and did not face any issue about time consuming, coding etc. It is going completely perfect.

Highly recommended platform with tons of interesting features. You can also modify it according to your needs, like tracking and billings. It is excellent in scanning the documents as well.

What do you like best about the product?
It effectively monitors workflow in all departments within our organization.Our sales team easily save customers contacts and use them during email campaigns. Contributes to proper record keeping for all business operation.

It has offered great service and we have not experienced drawbacks since we started using this platform.
