Target Business Outcomes in fast agile and secure way
What do you like best about the product?
For us it is mostly about achieveing Business values fast intutively and securly . Best is that both developer community and First class citizens can protype the applications itself in OutSystems and then ship it fast as a product from there on thus giving Business an opportunity to get what they see without any hidden It cycles of months ...
What do you dislike about the product?
I look forward to have two big things which could be even more sharp around OutSystems adoption : First few months of adoption handholding to ensure companies work to get CoP rather than rushing for easy success . Second with lot of real time business now lookin g to leverage Low code a more stringent Support /SLA's will be required in coming days
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This has helped us develop all our Operational Applications in Investment banking domain on the same . At same we are able to move away from legacy app in less than a year which in Tradional High code was estimated to be 3 years journey .

WE HAVE DEVELOPED OUR CUSTOMER ACQUISITION PLATFORM FOR OUR SALES TEAM. THE APPLICATION DEVELOPED IN OUTSYSTEMS FRAMEWORK WORKS IN OFFLINE TOO. THE COST/TIME TO LAUNCH A NEW PRODUCT IN OUTSYSTEMS IS VERY MUCH CHEAPER IN TERMS OF BOTH TIME AND COST

Pretty much every business need that comes up, we solve it by building a corresponding app in Outsystems

OutSystems might be your solution for automating processes
What do you like best about the product?
In OutSystems, it's easier to develop with the kind of UI that is provided with drag-and-drop functionality for the nodes in order to create a workflow. It gives us also freedom to create customized themes through CSS. The customer support is really helpful. SLA for tickets raised is within 24 hours. Deployment and implementation is very easy with the Lifetime Management Console. Integration is also done with ease as there is also studio available for it.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are not much to dislike with this platform as it helps us automate a lot of processes that were previously done manually. Aside from the pricing, the technical/development side of it is really a great product on its own.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
OutSystems addresses a lot of manual processes in the Bank such as branch transaction processing, document repository, billing and collections, security issue monitoring, change request monitoring, and most importantly the customer bank account management through a mobile application. Our portfolio is a mix of internal and external applications but mainly focuses in reducing complexity in terms of performing bank processes and customer activites. With OutSystems, we're able to develop and roll out fast with quality and reliable applications that enhances our productivity and as well as reduce cost for the organization.
A great low-code platform that has a superior time-to-market from other technologies.
What do you like best about the product?
Superior time-to-market. Faster delivery, from development to deployment. Fits perfectly with agile methodologies. Rapid adaptation to change. Community support is amazing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Branching strategies are hard to acomplish. Code reviewing is complex and a lot different from other technologies which are file-oriented. Library/component versioning/isolation is not possible.

Fast delivery cycle, allows you to get quick feedback from target users and business stakeholders.

OutSystems Application development is very quick and we can develop apps very quickly, and and we can develop complex logic in applications , do integration with emails and other apis easily. implementation is very easy, less experince developers also can quickly learn outsystems.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing dislikes about outsystems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
i am developining an insurance application, where i need to send emails to users frequently and this very much easy to implement in outsystems, and also there are complex math calculations in my applications these are possible easily because of outsystems, and email template design is also easy, in my application there is a functionality to read text files i achebied that because of outsystems.

Prototyping is easy and it takes a lot of standard development work out of a developer's hands. This means more time to work on parts of software that really distinguish your application from others. If you set up the architecture in the right way, development is even more faster because the reuse of components.
OutSystems has a Forge which offers a variety of plugins that are mostly free to use. This makes it easy to extend your factory and you don't have to program functionality yourself.
OutSystems offers template screens, web applications and even mobile apps. This is a great way to start building applications fast. The components from OutSystemsUI are easy to use and offer all the functionality needed, in most cases. And if not, search the Forge or build it yourself.
Learning OutSystems is easy. It offers a lot of (online) courses and guided paths. When following and completing a guided path, developers are able to put their knowledge into practice. Ofcourse, as always, they'll still make mistakes and will get better when gaining experience.
The OutSystems Community offers a lot of support. Reactions are fast and fellow developers often create little pieces of sample software in order to help. That's a very big advantage. Community members are all about helping everyone making to most of their experience with OutSystems and delivering value to their business. Not only the community members, but also OutSystems customer support reacts fast en is very willing to help.

Ofcourse, like most platforms, there are also a couple of downsides. While the Forge offers a wide range of plugins that you can use, the quality of support on these plugins varies. Even for some plugins that are supported by OutSystems. On top of that, one would expect that some functionality which is considered standard nowadays, would be out of the box available but isn't. Ofcourse, it can be created yourself but still.
Error messages aren't always clear and it doesn't take all work out of your hands. You still have to think really carefully about things like UX and architecture. OutSystems lets you create software very fast and because of that, it can also let you make a mess very fast.
Finally, the licencing costs are high, especially for smaller projects and companies and they increase disproportionate.

There is a limitation of AO's for small companies because they they exceed the limit then they have to change the payment plan.

It helps to quickly develop web or mobile apps to fulfill business requirements. Offers different environments to deploy the application from dev to production. It also help to mange the application for different customers/tenants withing the single application.
