AWS re:Invent 2019 – Hans Vestberg of Verizon Talks About Collaborating With AWS on 5G

Verizon is a leader in 5G innovation, offering its customers 5G Mobile and 5G Home internet—and now it is the first company to provide 5G network edge computing with AWS Wavelength, a new service Andy Jassy announced during his keynote. AWS Wavelength extends the AWS infrastructure, including compute and storage services, to the edge so that developers can create and deploy ultra-low latency applications, such as gaming and machine learning, to mobile devices on 5G. Using AWS Wavelength, Verizon is piloting 5G Edge, the company’s innovation platform for ultra-low latency applications, with customers in Chicago.
